A home for the guinea pig

In my last post, I told you about this guinea pig of a cabinet door.  It was supposed to be just a test to see if I could turn my cabinet doors around.

After looking at it, I wondered if I could actually use it.  It seemed a waste of time to have put so much effort into making it pretty and then not use it.  Am I right?  Well…  There’s this spot in my kitchen…  It’s on the dining side of my cabinets.  (Don’t judge.  I’ve warned you I’m a mess. )

Don’t ask me why it doesn’t have a cabinet door.  My husband removed it a long time ago and I can’t even remember why.  The plastic drawer broke and I think we opted to have the whole thing open instead of just having a hole where the drawer was supposed to be.  I know…  It’s an utter mess and should be hidden behind a door. I ask myself how I live like this all the time.  I’m a work in progress, y’all.

Could it fit?

Seeing that awful mess made me wonder if my guinea pig would fit. I held up the door to the opening and Voila!!  A host of angels started singing to me.  It fit!!!  Well, it fit if I didn’t want a drawer there any more.  And I was okay with that.  So, I removed part of the face frame making it a large open cabinet.

Beautiful!

Y’all…  I SO did a happy dance!!!  Until I realized, I have to do this fifteen times over.  Then, I drank wine.
