Host a dinner party
When you make a pretty new table, you really want to make some memories with some awesome people around said table. Thankfully, I have some amazing friends willing to help me do that. I decided it would be fun to get a little fancy and host a dinner party.
Table decor
Honestly, it’s not that fancy… It’s my everyday dishes, a cloth napkin and a simple place card.
A little greenery down the center of the table with my white pumpkins and some sweet little votives from Target’s dollar spot and we elevated the every day meal to something a little special.
I have to admit. In this house, I had to scramble to find enough bowls and spoons for 8 people. Seriously. It’s one of the great mysteries of life. Where do they go? I’m sure they’re with the missing socks. Aside from the hunt for dinnerware, I didn’t have enough chairs. My old table seated 6. This one seats 8 and I hadn’t gotten around to ordering 2 more just yet. I put my old Craigslist office chairs to good use. I think it worked. What do you think?
Altered plans
Our plan was a bonfire. The rainy weather nixed those plans. Not to worry, we were okay. We sat around the table drinking spiced cider sangria and eating soup and I made sure my friends were warm and cozy.
It was a great night! So good to see everyone! (Pardon the awful iphone photo-I got lazy)
And of course, a few days later… My new chairs came. I hoped they were a close match but I hit the chair lottery. They are IDENTICAL to what I already have. Lucky me!
So… Here’s my advice. Grab your girlfriends and host a dinner party. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to be fun.

They were blankets. Good eye! I bought one for each friend so they’d be warm and cozy.
