Open shelves and other fun things

I think I finally got over my stumbling block.  I am working at warp speed on this kitchen.  My oldest son, Austin helped me finally remove the last cabinet I needed to remove.  I am ALL in on open shelves now in this spot.  No turning back.

I had an electrician out today to finally move the outlet to accommodate the fridge’s new location.  He’ll be back in the morning to add another outlet in the corner of the kitchen.  I’m not sure why there isn’t one there.  I always thought outlets in the kitchen had to be every few feet.  We’re also adding a light over the kitchen sink.  THAT is exciting to me.  I love anything that brightens up this house! We opted for these recessed lights at Lowe‘s.

I plan on this weekend being an absolute flurry of activity.  I’m really hoping to accomplish a LOT!!  I feel like today gave me a great start.  Aside from all the kitchen adventures, it’s Andy’s birthday on Saturday.  I wonder if he’d like 3 boxes of subway tile for his birthday? I’m thinking I should put up the backsplash before I install the open shelves. SO much to do…
