Treat yourself Tuesday
It’s a rainy, Tuesday morning here in Ohio. I got the kids off to school and turned around to face the house. Oh. I wish I hadn’t. Despite having put some things back into the family room, the room is still not put back together. On top of that, my photos and artwork are scattered around my living room waiting to be returned to the walls. My office is overflowing with paperwork. There are dirty dishes in the sink and the laundry is piling up. My mudroom has become the catch all of Goodwill donations, Habitat donations and things that need to be stored in the basement.
It’s overwhelming.
I know. You know. You’ve been there too. All of us have those days. In the middle of my self pity, I decided to power through the papers on my desk. I filed some things. I threw a LOT of things away. I made a pile of things I need to do. It’s all little things. But the little things are the makers or breakers of days, aren’t they?
So… in the midst of my bad mood, for no apparent reason other than hunger, I decided to make myself some bacon.
I mean, bacon… It’s super tasty and it’s just not something you really make just for yourself but I did. And it felt like a treat. It prompted the idea of #TreatyourselfTuesday
So… How about we hang out every Tuesday and I share some ideas on how to treat yourself? Let’s start with the idea of a night at home—ALONE!! You know how many moms dream of that? All of them. All moms dream of a night alone.
If I were to get a night alone, I think self care would be the theme of the night and while it may be basic, it would definitely be relaxing!
One – A Faux fur blanket to curl up in
Two – A Journal, because documenting the day to day helps me.
Three – A little vino (This is one of my favorites.)
Four – I’d give myself a manicure!
Five – And a facial! Oooh the self care is happening!
Six – And of course, Netflix!
And there you have it… Week number one of Treat Yourself Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed it! I hope it inspires you to give yourself a little treat this week. This post does contain affiliate links. If you’d like to read more about those, click here.
