Remodeling delays

I have watched enough shows on HGTV to know that remodeling delays happen….  As I shared in my last post, I had every intention of just killing my to do list this weekend.  The road to hell is paved with good intentions.  That feels so accurate right now.

I don’t want to go into detail at this point.  Let’s just say, my time with the electrician did not go as planned and a new electrician will be needed.  Until that’s all sorted out, I’m in a holding pattern.  If there’s such a thing, I could use a Thanksgiving electrical miracle.

Instead of focusing on that mess, let’s focus on what I was able to accomplish.  I painted the mudroom.  The faux shiplap is on the cabinet and painted.  The kitchen walls were patched.  Trim pieces have been added in the mudroom so the doorknobs will no longer go through the drywall.

I still need to:

Install the backsplash
Do something with the counter
Paint the kitchen walls
Install the drawers, fronts & pulls
Install cabinet hardware
Level the floor
Install the open shelves

I’m close.  SO close.  I can see the end in sight.  I have to get over my electrical hurdle and then have a few days to get things done.

Think good thoughts for me.  I hoped this would be done by the holiday and remodeling delays weren’t part of my plans.
