Doors
Can you believe Christmas is over? This month just FLEW by! I can’t believe tomorrow is New Year’s Eve.
As far as home projects go, I didn’t get a lot done in December. The kitchen is in a workable state so it meant we could devote time to making cookies, shopping for gifts, spending time with friends and in general, preparing for Christmas—which was over way too fast. It was such a flurry of activity this year. I’m vowing to do next year differently, to have a little more time to reflect.
While all the hustle & bustle of real life was happening and the kitchen has been getting all the blog love, the mudroom has also been getting a little refresh in the background. I hope you’ll forgive me if I go back and forth between the two rooms a bit. Most of the mudroom is very simple updates: lighting, trim and a coat of paint.
One update that isn’t quite as simple is doing something about the cheap, flat, hollow doors.
I look at this door a lot. It’s the door I see from the kitchen. It’s the door I see when I take the trash out, when I go out the back door, etc… And it’s an eyesore. Aside from its need for a new paint job, it lacks character. Every time I look this direction, I think “Ugh… I need to do something about this.”
Well, Christmas to the rescue. Austin (my oldest son) gave me this beauty as a gift.
I’m excited to share with you how we swapped one door for the other. Stay tuned.
xoxo
